From 1616 till 1617, his son rented it to the bishop of Luçon -Armand du Plessis- who became later Cardinal of Richelieu. He sold it after to Robert de Harlay, Officer in command of Wolf hunting for the King, who rented it to the Colonel of Ornano.
D'Estrees took this hotel back in 1643 and sold it then to the King who incorporated it the Palais Royal.
